1:1 "Numbat" Myrmecobius fasciatus

1:1 "Numbat" Myrmecobius fasciatus

£85.00

This plush is made of custom printed soft velvet fabric to my own design, sewn and stuffed, with plastic safety eyes and faux fur tail. This plush has recycled plastic beans inside for floppy weight.

These plushies will come with a certificate of authenticity, detailling their species, the date they were made and proving that they are an original Palaeoplushie handmade in Scotland by Rebecca Groom.

As this is a hand made item, it is not intended for children and is designed to be an art piece for adults. As they are stitched by machine, they won't fall apart if handled roughly but have not passed the relevant safety standards to be sold as a child's toy.

Plushie Dimensions: Lifesize! 40cm long including tail, 22cm body length
Description: The Numbat (Myrmecobius fasciatus) is a small marsupial that eats mostly termites. It is also known as the Noombat or Walpurti.

They were once common across Southern Australia but the introduction of foxes and domestic cats by Europeans has impacted their population drastically, they are now only found in a few small colonies in Western Australia.

There are fewer than 1000 left in the wild, and though conservation efforts have had promising results they are still an endangered species.

For every Numbat Plush sold I will donate £5 towards Project Numbat.
