Rhamphorhynchus muensteri

Rhamphorhynchus muensteri

from £45.00

Each plush will come with a signed certificate of authenticity tag, stating the date it was created and the species represented.

This plush is made from a custom printed soft velvet pattern of an original design, hand crafted and stuffed with plastic rods in the wings to give them a more realistic shape. Popper/snap fastenings on the wings mean that they can be folded or outstretched realistically. They have plastic eyes with secure backings.

As this is a hand made item, it is not intended for children and is designed to be an art piece for adults. As they are mostly stitched by machine and hand finished, they won't fall apart if handled roughly but have not undergone the relevant safety tests to guarentee their safety as a child's toy and contain small parts that may pose a choking hazard.

Plushie Dimensions:
Adult: 48cm long (including tail), 72cm wingspan
Flapling: 30cm long (including tail), 42cm wingspan

Description: Rhamphorhynchus muensteri is a species of long-tailed Pterosaur from the Late Jurassic, with fossils found most commonly in the Solnhofen limestone of Bavaria, Germany. Their life appearence was well known due to fossils of well-preserved soft tissues such as wing membranes and tail vanes. Their interlocking teeth is indicative of a fish-eating diet. The shape of their tail vane changed throughout their life, young individuals had small diamond-shaped vanes and the largest had triangular shaped vanes. The largest known individual had a wingspan of 1.8m, but even the smallest known individual with a wingspan of 29cm is thought to have been capable of flight.
